Winter is a challenging season for entrance mats — salt, mud, and moisture can take their toll and shorten their lifespan. As spring approaches, it’s essential to give them proper care, treat them appropriately, and get them ready for the upcoming season.
Here are some tips to keep your entrance mats in perfect condition:
1️⃣ Thorough Vacuuming and Cleaning Under the Mat
First, remove coarse dirt — sand, stones, and any dried salt residues. We recommend thoroughly vacuuming the mats, including the spaces between profiles and around rubber rings. It’s also important to clean the area under the mat, where trapped dirt can accumulate.
For textile mats, which are primarily used indoors for final shoe cleaning, vacuuming is usually sufficient.
2️⃣ Wet Cleaning
For deeper cleaning, you can use water with a mild cleaning agent. A pressure washer is suitable for mats with PVC strips or brushes, but for textile versions, we recommend only manual cleaning or using an appropriate vytepování cleaning machine.
3️⃣ Drying is Key
If you use multiple mats in one frame depending on the season, allow the mats to dry thoroughly after cleaning to prevent mold or unpleasant odors during storage. The ideal method is air drying or drying in a well-ventilated area. A mat that you will return to its place after cleaning will dry naturally outdoors.
4️⃣ Inspection and Possible Replacement
Check the condition of the mats — if they are significantly worn, it might be a good time to replace them or repair any damaged parts. Our team will be happy to assist you with mat repairs.
